This is amazingly youthful wine at heart, the palate tight and reserved. Malt, nougat and floral aromas mingle with butterscotch and a hint of marzipan. The acidity is seamless, the complexity subtly stated. A masterpiece of finesse. Devil's Lair have been leaders in producing some of Margaret Rivers, if not Australia's, best and well-balanced Chardonnays. This wine is a triumph of both winemaking and viticulture - a perfect balance has been achieved between toasty complexity with an almost unctuous feel along with a level of restraint and purity.
